Post Theory Test Course

Our post theory test course is designed for those who have already passed their theory test, but have little or no driving experience. Based on your level of experience, we book a suitable practical test which will allow you to work intensively towards your goal at a pace that is right for you.

Driving schools cannot get driving tests ahead of the general public. Currently the waiting time for a practical test is approximately 8 weeks, meaning it will take approximately 2 months to complete this course. If you need to be passed in a shorter time frame than this, then the best option for you is to take the DIY Intensive Course, so that you can book your own tests and hopefully find a cancellation.

Pricing and booking information

As a guide, the DVSA says that it takes on average 45 hours´ worth of professional tuition to reach test standard. If you have had no experience of driving before, please bear this in mind as you may require more lessons than you think, so extra time should be allowed for this.

If you are unsure how many lessons you will need, then we advise starting with a 10 hour course and then topping up with lessons after that. To use the instructors car on test, you will need to reserve 2 lessons from your block - this gives you a lesson before the test to run through everything and the hour of the test itself. Therefore, if you book a 10 hour course, 2 hours will be reserved for test day and the remaining 8 hours will be used for lessons.

Disclaimer
All our instructors have a high reputation at their local test centres, and it is important you take advice from your instructor if they believe you require more lessons. Our instructors are under no obligation to take you to test if they believe your driving is dangerous.

Testimonial

First of all thank you, passed first time!
Second of all - well worth it, at first I did think "It's a lot of money" but it shows that I think a semi intensive driving school is really good.
Personally to me I thought Ignition Driving School was Ace! 10 out of 10, from Kelly on the phone to my instructor Peter. Top banana guys!!!
As I teach outdoor sports and passing careful instructions in guiding others. I really enjoyed being on the other side again. Peter's hard work got me passed with the odds against me as a young male driver. Peter acknowledged my speed of learning and enthusiasm and I thought he adapted brilliantly to my needs, we worked really well as a team and I'm still really happy about having Peter as my instructor.
Thank you very much team at Ignition. Your supah.
